MedKeeper is a personal medication reminder and tracker. This policy explains exactly what it stores, where it goes, and what it never does. It is written to be read, not to be skimmed past.
The short version. Your medication data is stored in your own account and is visible only to you. It is never sold, and it is never used to target advertising. The app is supported by ads, which are served by Google AdMob and see none of your health information. Deleting your account deletes your data.
MedKeeper is published by Abbas Alayan, an individual developer, who is the data controller for the purposes of this policy. You can reach me at appdevad@icloud.com about anything on this page, including requests to access or delete your data.

Passwords are never visible to me. Authentication is handled by Google Firebase Authentication, which stores your credentials in a form I cannot read.
MedKeeper lets you track medications for family members, which may include children or people in your care. When you enter someone else's details you are responsible for having a proper basis to do so, and for telling them if they are able to understand it. That information is treated exactly like your own: stored in your account, visible only to you, and deleted with your account.
MedKeeper is free, and is supported by advertising served through Google AdMob. Ads appear as a banner on the main screens and occasionally as a full-screen ad after you save something.
To serve and measure those ads, Google may collect and process device-level information such as a mobile advertising identifier, IP address, device type, coarse location derived from the IP address, and interaction with the ads themselves. This happens inside Google's SDK; how Google uses it is governed by the Google Privacy & Terms.
None of your health information is involved. The ad network is not given your medications, dose history, appointments, vaccine records, profile details or notes, and nothing you enter in MedKeeper is used to decide which ads you see.
The ads are non-personalised. MedKeeper does not ask to track you across other companies' apps and websites, and does not request personalised advertising, so the ads you see are not based on an advertising profile built from your activity elsewhere. On Android you can reset or delete your advertising ID at any time in Settings › Privacy › Ads.
MedKeeper uses two Google Firebase services to understand whether the app is working and where it is confusing:
No medicine names, dosages, notes, profile names, dates of birth or dose histories are sent to either service, and neither is given your account identifier, so the measurements are not tied to you by name or email. Both are operated by Google as a processor on my behalf, under the Firebase Privacy and Security terms. This information is used to improve the app, and is never used for advertising.
Your data is stored in Google Cloud Firestore and Google Firebase Authentication, operated by Google, and is protected by security rules that permit access only to the signed-in account that owns it. Data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS). Google acts as a processor on my behalf; its handling is governed by the Firebase Privacy and Security terms. Google's infrastructure may store data outside Lebanon, including in the United States and the European Union.
A copy of your medications is also kept on your own device so the app works offline. Signing out cancels scheduled reminders on that device.
Reminders are scheduled locally by your device's operating system. Their content is generated on the device and is not sent through any server. If you turn reminders off, existing scheduled reminders are removed.
Your data is kept for as long as your account exists. Deleting your account from Settings permanently removes your profiles, medications, dose history, settings and notes, and the account itself. This cannot be undone.

Depending on where you live you may have further rights, including to object to or restrict processing, and to complain to your local data protection authority. Medication and health information is treated as sensitive personal data; MedKeeper processes it solely to provide the reminder and tracking features you asked for, on the basis of your consent, which you may withdraw by deleting your account.
MedKeeper is not directed at children and is not intended for independent use by anyone under 16. An adult may use it to track a child's medication, as described above.
Access is restricted to your authenticated account by server-side rules, and all traffic is encrypted in transit. No system is perfectly secure, and I cannot guarantee absolute security. Please use a strong, unique password.
If this policy changes materially, the updated version will be posted here with a new date, and where the change is significant you will be notified in the app.
